Grumman’s Hill

Description:

The monument, at the summit of Grumman’s Hill, marks the location where Maj. Gen. William Tryon witnessed the burning of Norwalk by the British troops under his command during the engagement of July 11, & 12, 1779.

The monument was erected by the Norwalk Chapter D.A.R. in 1904.
